One million zongzi a day: How did tiny rice dumpling become huge business?


Eastern China’s Jiaxing is a city known as the hometown of zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings. Zongzi factories are now in full swing there ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on June 10. Reporter Wu Bin explains how the small festive snack is generating an industry that’s worth hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars.
